The Importance of the U.S. 2020 Presidential Election

Trump vs Biden

Biden vs Trump

Who will win the white house in November?

I’m going to dive into the swimming pool here. But, before I do so, let me tell you about why this year’s election is extremely important. Way more important than that of 2016’s.

Donald Trump and the Return of Fascism

This may sound like a Hollywood blockbuster movie, but it’s not.

I visualize two different scenarios for this upcoming election.

The first one is Donald Trump winning the election, and everything continues to function as normal. In other words, the U.S. continues to put up with its worst president in 300 years of history.

The second scenario is Donald Trump losing the election and going rogue by claiming that everything was a fraud. He will try, illegally and unconstitutionally, to retain the white house at any cost. With his huge fan base of American conservatives who can’t think beyond their star spangled flag, nasty things will happen.

Does this sound too unreal? Well, just think about the fact that if you’re reading this post at the time of publication, you’re most likely at home, under complete lockdown trying to protect yourself and your family from a global pandemic.

The Fall of Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders just dropped out of the race. And, even though I’m beyond impressed by the amount of socialists that were in love with some of his ideas… These people should be more than happy. Seriously. For a variety of different reasons. Let’s put some of them together.

Bernie Sanders would have never, ever beat Donald Trump. Despite the huge amount of socialists that we’re seeing amidst younger generations, socialism simply doesn’t have room in our American empire. It goes against every single principle that our founding fathers fought for. Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton. None of these great minds would have ever voted for a man like Bernie Sanders. Not because they didn’t think that a central government should provide for essential services like healthcare, but because they understood that the U.S. is a land where people should be free. Free to be a billionaire, too. And hey, don’t take me wrong, I’m sure Bernie has a good heart and all. I would vote socialism under Bernie before voting Trump any day of the week. But like I said, America doesn’t need Sanders’ extremism, and Sanders’ ideas weren’t made for a country like ours. He takes things too far.

Joe Biden, on the other hand, has a much higher chance of beating the Donald. I’ll be honest with you… Not a huge fan of Biden either. I’m just not very impressed with anything about him. But, the truth is, Biden has behind his back every blue vote in the country. Not just that, but add in every single African American who saw him work hand by hand with Barack Obama. Plus, let’s not forget that COVID-19 is actually most likely going to do him a huge favor.

COVID-19, Joe Biden’s Best Friend

It’s April 10th at the time of publication. We’ve had over 468,000 people infected and over 16,000 deaths. Of course, these numbers are kind of fake since the U.S. isn’t actually testing anyone and many more people could be infected without knowing it. Leaving that to one side, my bet is that we’ll hit the 1,000,000 cases and 50,000 deaths by the end of the month.

What I’m trying to say here is that Donald Trump’s plan to play his “look at the record high stock market and look at the all-time low unemployment number” card isn’t going to work for him anymore. The bubble has popped. People are stuck at home without jobs. He is going to have a hell of a time trying to come out of this situation without losing a lot of voters.

So… Why is this year’s election so important?

Well, first of all and being brutally honest with you once again, the U.S. is screwed. Regardless of who comes out of this election, I think the U.S. is going to go through the worst financial depression in its history. This is why the man in charge will play a big role on how bad things will be.

These upcoming months will be crucial. The current administration’s response to COVID-19 will pretty much determine the outcome of the election. The debates will also be important.
