Why Rogue One didn’t have an opening crawl

I loved the film. Rogue One was amazing, from beginning to end. It did have its moments were you were the storyline jumped back and forth, but I do feel like it was an amazing Star Wars story. Now… It did have two main things missing which made the experience not so great…

1- The opening crawl…

I was waiting for it! For real! I really wanted to stand up and start clapping as soon as I heard the main theme and those big yellow letters pop up in the screen. But it didn’t happen. Why? How could a Star Wars movie not have an opening crawl? Well according to cinemablend they just thought that Rogue One was a stand alone movie and it didn’t make sense to include one.

What…?

I get the fact that Lucasfilm may have thought that no major event happened between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. However, it’s still a Star Wars story… What makes Star Wars so famous is the fact that we can expect jedis, lightsabers, a magical use of the force and… AN EPIC OPENING CRAWL!

2- The theme

Where is it? It’s not there. It’s just simply not there. The Imperial March is in there thanks to the epic appearance of Darth Vader, but still… Where is my main Star Wars theme? I’m not saying that Rogue One’s soundtrack isn’t good… But it’s still a Star Wars movie. Even if they think that Rogue One is a stand alone movie, which I honestly don’t agree with, it’s still part of this magical universe. As such, it should include one of the best ever made soundtrack themes!

It is a must watch. Preorder it now!
